A scant two hours from Madrid, bordering the provinces of Avila (Candeleda) and Toledo, Madrigal de la Vera is the first village we encounter in the La Vera shire. Madrigal is located at the foot of the looming Mansur peak, visible between the alleys towards the northeast. Together with the Gredos massif and the crystal clear waters of the Alardos gorge, it forms an imposing sight.
"La Casa del Holandés" (the house of the Dutchman), is situated in the historical part of village with easy access to all services. Within five to ten minutes walking distance are the chestnut plantation, the Alardos gorge with its one-eyed bridge, a superb location for enjoying nature; hiking, swimming in natural pool, horse riding, mushroom picking, fishing... or even sports hunting.
La Casa del Holandés was build in 1850 and restored with loads of care and patience into three rural studio apartments and restaurant. Each studio apartments is designed for two persons, and is equipped with a kitchenette, bathroom, television, air conditioning and free wifi.
